Visit One Station Hill in Reading as part of Open Doors 2023

March 2023

Station Hill is taking part in this year’s Open Doors Construction event. This is your chance to go behind the scenes at One Station Hill in Reading, part of Lincoln MGT’s flagship 2.5 million sq ft mixed-use development beside Reading Station.

One Station Hill will be open for free tours on Thursday 16th and Friday 17th March 2023, with bookings now open via the Open Doors website – www.opendoors.construction

Spaces on the tours are limited, so we encourage people to sign up as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

This is an opportunity to go beyond the hoardings to visit Reading’s most iconic new development, One Station Hill, which on completion early next year will deliver a new landmark best-in-class office that will be the tallest building in Reading, and will create a new gateway from the station to the town centre and beyond with more than two acres of new public realm.

The tour is also an opportunity to learn more about the scheme from representatives of Sir Robert McAlpine, and find out more about careers in construction.

Open Doors is delivered by Build UK, the leading representative organisation for the UK construction industry. This initiative seeks to inspire young people and career changers of all ages to consider and explore a dynamic and exciting career in the construction industry.

Open Doors is delivered in partnership with Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) and supported by industry partners the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS), Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS), Go Construct, HS2 Ltd, Kier, and Skylapse Media, Community Partners the Careers & Enterprise Company (CEC), the Department for Education (DfE) and the Department for Work & Pensions (DWP), and Media Partner Building.

Helen Denham, Sustainability Manager, at Sir Robert McAlpine, said: “We are delighted to be involved in Open Doors once again. We are particularly excited to showcase the hard work that goes into buildings and share the many facets of construction with the local community in Reading.”

Suzannah Nichol, Build UK Chief Executive, said: “Many young people don’t know what they want to do when they leave school. So, we have a fantastic opportunity to capture their imagination and show them just what they can achieve whether they are considering college, a traineeship, an apprenticeship, or university.”
