In line with the existing outline consent granted by Reading Borough Council in July 2021, proposals for the next phase of residential development at Station Hill in Reading will be going on display from the end of this week in the reception area of the award-winning office building, ONE Station Hill, located opposite the entrance of Reading Station.
The proposals, include further detail on the proposed design for the previously outline consented new homes, shops, cafés, landscaped public space and improved pedestrian routes on part of the remaining site along Greyfriars Road and Garrard Street, helping to further add to the lively and well-connected neighbourhood which has already been established at Station Hill.
Members of the public are invited to meet the project team at the public exhibition to learn more about the proposals on Friday 7 November between 10.00am and 5.00pm and on Saturday 8 November between 10.00am and 4.00pm. The exhibition will then continue to be on display at ONE Station Hill until Monday 24 November.
Station Hill – when complete – will be a 2.5 million sq ft (232,257 sq m) mixed-use development, including a total of 625,000 sq ft (58,064 sq m) of best-in-class office space and up to 1,300 homes, and also includes 95,000 sq ft (8,825 sq m) of lifestyle-led retail and leisure space. 598 of the homes have already been delivered in the neighbouring Ebb&Flow residential and affordable residential rental community, as well as the 280,000 sq ft (26,012 sq m) ONE Station Hill workspace building, and two acres of public realm at the entrance exit to the Station.
Alex Aitchison, UK Managing Director at Lincoln Property Company – and on behalf of the JV – said: “We are excited about consulting with the wider community about bringing forward the next residential phase at Station Hill in accordance with the existing outline consent granted by Reading Borough Council in 2021. This consultation reflects our ongoing commitment to community engagement and we look forward to welcoming local people to our exhibition and hearing their views.”
